Calico's owner and founder, Elissa Paquette, first became obsessed with picking and collecting vintage clothing when she discovered her local Salvation Army Thrift Store at the age of fourteen. She began selling her finds on eBay, while attending Massachusetts College of Art, and opened Calico's original location above a nail salon in New Bedford soon after.
